A composer where story, sound, and emotion meet.

Susan Terra is a composer and orchestrator for film, video games, animation, and visual media, with a musical voice that moves between orchestral, electronic, and hybrid scoring.

Her work is driven by story and emotional intention, using melody, texture, orchestration, rhythm, and silence to shape the relationship between music and picture. Rather than approaching every project with a fixed sound, she builds the musical language around the world of the story—whether that calls for the depth of an orchestra, the movement and experimentation of electronic production, or a combination of both.

Susan’s work spans cinematic scoring, interactive music, orchestration, and music production. Her approach emphasizes thematic continuity, precise synchronization to picture, and controlled use of musical intensity, with particular attention to knowing when music should lead, when it should support, and when restraint is the stronger choice.

She earned her master’s degree in Media Scoring and Production from the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, where her work explored emotional storytelling across film and interactive media. Her background includes composition, orchestration, notation, MIDI production, adaptive music, and game-audio implementation.

Through Terrafic Music, Susan creates and supports music for filmmakers, game developers, composers, producers, and other creative teams, bringing together traditional scoring techniques and contemporary production to create music shaped specifically for the world it inhabits.
